Relaxed ways to spend Spring Break

The time has finally come! Every students favorite part of the semester. Finishing with the midterms, homework, and exams, and preparing for some relaxing time. Yes, Spring Break is finally upon us, and it’s time to start thinking how to spend your free time.

If you’re like me and still haven’t planned how to use your time, don’t worry. There are plenty of things to do. Things that are fun, relaxing, and enjoyable at the same time.

Rather than spending a lot of money on an expensive travel, or a booze cruise, this year I decided to stay local and enjoy my free time. I went on a hiking trip for one day, watched a lot of movies, went around the city to take some photos, started exercising again.

It was great, just enjoying my free time, hanging out with friends, and relaxing for a couple of days.

Sometimes not having something planned is way better than organizing and planning a trip that could well be more stressful and exhausting than you ever wanted. So this Spring Break, just chill, relax and enjoy the free time you have. Dedicate it to you, and only you.

Here are a few ways you could spend your free time during Spring Break this year.

1. Hiking

If you haven’t planned what to do during the Spring Break, why not go on a hike? It won’t hurt you to check out the local wilderness. Just load up your backpack and explore the wonders of nature. Call your friends, or find a hiking group, and go enjoy the clear air and calm of the wild.

Since you have freedom during the break, why not go on a few hiking trips? You will have the chance to explore the nature around you, take some awesome photos of beautiful landscapes, and clear your mind. After lessons, homework, and exams, you deserve to relax, recharge, and get your body active again. You can reset and prepare for the rest of the semester.

2. Camping

Even better than hiking. Why not combining few days you’ve got planned for hiking and go on a camping trip. It’s a great way to spend your Spring Break without having to spend months organizing. Gather a group of friends, pack your bags, jump in the car or get a small van, and go to a campsite or somewhere in a forest. You and your friends will have a great time and an opportunity to bond and deepen your friendships.

Being in the wild for few days will recharge your batteries, and get you in a better mental and physical shape.
Sure, everyone wants to lay on a beach and drink cocktails for few days. But you could find a campsite on a lake and have almost the same experience, probably an even better one and spend a lot less money doing it.

3. Spa Day

Every once in a while I treat myself to a relaxing spa treatment. Why shouldn’t you too? After the midterms and stress go and enjoy a relaxing day in the spa. There are plenty of good deals for spa treatments for students. Use them, and have the best days ever. You can invite your friends as well, and have a wonderful chill day.

Treat yourself to a nice massage, or some sauna time, or even mani-pedi. At the end of it, you will feel relaxed, refreshed, and shiny. And guys, this goes for you too.

4. Last minute trip

If you haven’t planned anything, but you still want to travel somewhere, don’t worry, you can. There are plenty of last-minute trips that are budget friendly, and awesome. Just get few friends, go in an agency, and find the best option or you. Yes, everything will be rushed, but being spontaneous is good. We’re sure you will find a great deal on a few days in Mexico, or Miami Beach, or even a cruise with the requisite parties.

5. Movie marathon

Do you feel lazy this year and want to stay in and just chill? Then you should definitely have a movie marathon. Do it alone, or with a couple of friends, it’ll be great fun, relaxed and with no obligations and no stress, just watching your favorite tv show or movie franchise.

The last time I had few free days, I stayed home, and I watched every Harry Potter movie with my friends. It was the most fun and chill time I’ve had for months, you can do the same. Grab some popcorn and beverages, and enjoy catching up on new movies, or watch old ones again.

6. Stay in

When everyone’s gone for the Spring Break, why not be the unique one and don’t go anywhere? Just stay in your dorm room, and enjoy being alone. With all the rush and crowded halls the whole semester, you could benefit from empty halls and some quiet.

Use the time alone to do whatever you want! Watch Netflix the whole day, eat whatever you want, don’t take a shower for few days, nobody will care! You can use the free time to read a book or catch up on your hobby. Do whatever you want. It’s up to you!

7. Amusement park

If you’re looking for more thrills and excitement, then you should pay a visit to an amusement park. Go and have the time of your life in Disneyland, Universal Studios, Legoland, etc. Enjoy the rides, the food, the costumes, and the magic in those places. Pump some adrenaline on a rollercoaster, and leave all the stress back home.
You and your friends will have great fun, and when you get out, you’ll feel relaxed, happy and energized.

8. Volunteer

Having the opportunity and time to do some volunteering work sounds great, right? Rather than spending money on expensive traveling, you can do something more fulfilling and useful. Go help in a local charity organization, nursing home, or in a pet shelter. You’ll feel great, useful, and even gain some knowledge and experience. It’s also good experience to put on your CV.

9. Go home

Who says that you have to plan and do something on Spring Break? Just use the free time you have and go back home to visit your parents. To make thing more exciting, do not tell them that you’re coming back. Make up a story that you’re doing something on the break, and just sneak up on them. Show up at the front door, in the middle of the day. They will be surprised and happy that you’re home, probably.
While you’re home, just chill and enjoy your parents spoiling you for few days. Use the time to catch up on what’s going on in the family, visit some relatives, and reconnect with your childhood friends.

So, don’t worry if you still haven’t planned anything for Spring Break. There are plenty of things to do, without needing to plan them for months. The point of the break is to relax and recharge for the next part of the semester. So go and do that. No stress, no worries, just enjoyment, relaxing, and fun.
