The most beautiful spring hikes in Oregon

Oregon is one of the states that is great to visit at any time of the year because of its beautiful natural environments, and there’s a lot more here than can be explored in a short weekend. When it comes to the spring this state offers so many different travel destinations, especially for nature lovers who are always searching for something a little bit special. Here are some of the best spring hikes in Oregon that you can do this season to recharge your batteries. Let’s get started!

Smith Rock, Terrebonne, Oregon

This breathtaking landscape is located only 20 miles from Bend. The best thing to do here is to take the Misery Ridge Loop Hike. It’s recommended to start early and bring plenty of water. Make sure you are in a good physical condition because the hike is quite challenging. Starting early will also help you to avoid the crowds. Spectacular views from the top are your reward after getting an excellent workout. Two good reasons why you and your friends should try this hike.

Abiqua Falls, Scotts Mills, Oregon

If you’re looking for a remote destination with no cell reception, incredible geological formations, and a quick 2.5-mile hike, then Abiqua Falls is the right place for you. The fall is 92 feet tall, and it offers spectacular views to those who visits. Pack a lunch, blanket, water, a book, a swimsuit and a camera to enjoy this secluded gift of nature that only the real adventurers know about.

Have in mind that this is not an easy place to find, so a truck would be a perfect choice to drive on the extremely rough terrain. DO NOT start a fire near the fall!

Silver Creek Falls, Silverton, Oregon

With more than 24 miles of hiking trails and ten waterfalls, this hike is definitely one of Oregon’s best. Hikers of all levels are welcomed here because the terrain is varied so it can be used by everybody. This one is the most visited of all Oregon hikes, not only because of its beauty but because of its accessibility as well. This hike is recommended to anyone from age 1 to 90, and if you’re lucky to use the trail when it is not crowded, you may see deer and bats (at night).

Anywhere you decide to explore along the gorge it’s guaranteed to be beautiful, so you don’t need to worry whether the trip will be worth it or not. The area is a great spot for hikes on the border between Washington and Oregon but there is one place that will blow your mind away, and that’s the Angels Rest. The hike is around 5 miles which means something like 1 hour and 20 minutes in total. Make sure to check the forecast before coming here because the views of the spectacular Oregon landscape are truly stunning on a sunny day.

This one is an easy 5-mile hike that you can do with your friends, family or even alone. You can spend anything from one to five hours enjoying the spectacular views of the flat and huge treeless butte. The hike is really enjoyable and worth visiting, and it’s especially beautiful in spring.

Anywhere you go in Oregon you can find incredibly beautiful hikes that will satisfy the nature needs of just about every outdoorsy person. No matter how old you are, or what your hiking level is, Oregon simply has everything you need. Get your hiking gear, invite your crew, and choose your first hike. Spring is here, and there is no need to stay at home anymore. Just go out there and have fun. Good luck!
