When your immune system is compromised and you contract a dose of the common cold, you will probably find yourself constantly blowing your streaming nose, coughing, spluttering and feeling generally out of sorts. A constant cough can really annoy you and often disturb your sleep. These symptoms are familiar to all of us and are really annoying.
Often commercial medicines seem to have no effect. However, this old traditional remedy can help you deal with the phlegm and stop a cough. The special ingredient is the humble carrot. This recipe needs just half a kilo of carrots and some organic honey. You will feel better in just a day or two. The remedy works equally well with adults and children.
Eating carrots help to reduce cholesterol, which can prevent heart disease. Carrots are a good source of calcium and vitamins and they help to aid digestion. Eating them will cleanse the body naturally, which helps prevent acne and they contain plenty of natural fiber. Eating a diet that includes plenty of vegetables will also help boost your immunity to disease.
You will need half a kilo of carrots, three or four tablespoons of honey and water to boil the carrots in. Chop up the carrots, cover them with the water and boil for a few minutes until they are soft. Remove from the stove. Strain the carrots, keeping the water aside. Mash the carrots or blend in a food processor. Add the honey to the water you kept aside and add it to the carrots. Keep this in the refrigerator.
With a dosage of three or four spoons a day, you will be taking on board a little extra natural goodness to help you feel better after a couple of days.
