The rise of social media has skyrocketed in the past five years and so has the ability to share photos. However, with so many different options to choose from, it may be hard to sift through all the Instagram pages and find the gems.
So here at Outdoor Revival, we figured we’d do the hard work for you, so check out these five Instagram pages you should follow to get some outdoor inspiration when you can’t hit the trails yourself.
Chris Burkard is a professional photographer that contributes to various companies such as National Geographic and Patagonia. This guy covers everything from surfing to climbing to snowboarding on his Instagram.
If you are searching for a page with a huge variety of photo subjects, this is the guy to follow. His unique eye will encourage you to get off your couch and get outside.
Travis Burke has been traveling around the world as a travel photographer. Living in his van, he has been driving circles around the United States capturing photos of famous locations such as the John Muir Trail and Zion National Park.
If you are looking for some inspiration to hit up the most famous outdoor sports in America, add Burke to your Instagram feed.
If you are an animal lover, head to Nicklen’s Instagram feed right away. Co-founder of the nonprofit organization Sea Legacy and a photojournalist for National Geographic, Nicklen travels all over the world capturing some incredible wildlife. Seeing nature through the eyes of the animals that inhabit it gives us a true appreciation for the outdoors. His photos encourage us to protect these animals’ homes and inspire our friends to do the same.
Based out of Vancouver, Canada, Snape has more than enough nature to keep his Instagram followers inspired. His photos are typically landscape driven and picturesque. Colorful mountains, rivers, forests cover his feed and really make you wish you didn’t agree to take an office job.
His photos capture the power of nature while reminding us all how small we really are in the big picture.
Sam Larson brings a fresh idea to his Instagram page by combining drawing, painting, and photography. Previously based in Portland, Oregon, and now in Salt Lake City, Utah, much of his work is inspired by the beautiful landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and has recently shifted to the desert West.
His feed features simplistic black and white drawings of nature-related items such as campsites and trees. In addition, Larson posts sequence videos of his watercolor paintings and drawing to show us how the art comes to life.
