The warm and sunny weather is finally here. With it, it’s time to get more active and go out to enjoy the pleasant sunshine and explore the outdoors. It’s time to wipe the dust from your exercising clothes and get in shape again after the lazy winter.
But, being active and getting in shape is not so easy as one might think. There are many factors you should consider while preparing and exercising. From types of activities and places to do them, to having the right equipment and diet. But, no matter what kind of activity you do, one thing is for sure, you have to drink a lot of water.
Drinking water is essential to having a healthy and beneficial workout regime. It’s important to drink a lot of water, especially when the weather is sunny and hot, and you do your activities outside. Otherwise, you might take the risk of getting dehydrated. And nobody wants that.
Since I was young, I was told by my parents that drinking water is so important and that I need to drink eight glasses of water every day. Of course, I didn’t believe them at the time. But, throughout my life, I’ve experienced firsthand how important it is to drink up. When I did big sporting events, hiked in the mountains, or even just walking around on a hot day, my body itself was telling me that I should drink a lot of water. Even when I got alcohol hangovers, my body was demanding more water.
Speed up your metabolism
The more water you consume, the more it helps your body burn calories. Studies show that drinking water helps your body to burn calories, and not store them as fat in your body.
Toxins cleanse
When you drink enough water, you improve your blood circulation, which helps your body to flush out toxins and impurities. Also, your skin cells can absorb more water, which helps you look young and fresh, and gets rid of wrinkles.
Natural appetite suppressant
Drinking a glass of water before a meal will reduce your appetite and need for food. You will eat less, but be satisfied at the same time.
Build muscle tone
You will be able to work harder, stronger, and longer, since water lubricates your muscles and joints, and prevent your body from cramping.
Energy boost
By staying hydrated, you will feel energized and fresh all the time. Dehydration may lead to weakness because it impacts the flow of oxygen that goes to your brain. Also, your heart works harder to pump oxygen to all of your organs, which makes you tired and drained.
Stress redundant
Studies show that being dehydrated leads to higher cortisol level-a stress hormone. That makes it harder for you to deal with everyday problems and obstacles.
So, whether you’re exercising actively, taking a hike, walking around the city, or just laying in bed at home, you need to fuel your body daily with the right amount of water. Your body will appreciate it, and you’ll be more fresh, energized, sharp.
