Are you dressing like an oystercatcher

We’re grateful to the amazing Nikki van Schyndel (aka Daisy Crocket) for sharing some of her life and adventures with us here on Outdoor Revival.

I love this bird and we can learn a lot from checking out his fashion style. Who says pink and red don’t go together?

The oystercatcher’s message is clear; Live who you truly are. How many times a day or week do you say to yourself, “I wonder what people will think?” or “I should probably not wear this?” or “I’d like to do that, but….what will people say?”

It’s time to let go of pleasing others at the expense of our happiness because when we shine out our joy, it doesn’t really disappoint others, it moves them to embrace their own happiness.

A good survivor in this world is one who knows who they are and loves and accepts themselves for where they are in their life. By living each moment as our true self, with one face for all, we discover a great sense of freedom.

Besides, all the great visionaries and wayshowers have probably dressed just like the oystercatcher.

So become that trendsetter you are; wear two different socks if you feel like it, order that wonder woman t-shirt and wear it out to high tea, buy a superhero belt buckle and a $1.25 mood ring…well wait, that’s my style, so don’t copy me…dye your hair blue, grow the weeds tall in your yard and eat them, take a week off from mowing your lawn, cancel all your appointments you are sighing over or change them, so you smile, say the words you never could before and definitely do something you think is embarrassing!
