TK. World’s First Stainless Vacuum Insulated Cycling Bottle

Cycling is a growing activity, be it Mountain Biking, Road biking or any of the other flavours that abound.  More and more people are getting on two wheels.  I’ve just got my bike serviced so that I can get out on the road and get fitter and while I’m taking a break I can ride out from the Outdoor Revival office and get some fresh air.

The mornings can be a bit chilly though so the thought of having a warm drink on the ride is a good one, a bit of hot water and ginger, a great start to the day.  So, with the nations New Years resolutions largely orientated around getting fit any little extras to make it comfortable should be shared.  So, here we are, the TK. World’s First Stainless Vacuum Insulated Cycling Bottle from the Travel Kuppe Company’s Kickstarter page.

Here’s some more information.

Stainless steel vacuum insulated cycling bottle holds temperature of your favorite drink for over 24 hours, no matter the condition.

Why do cyclists have to put up with flimsy, plastic, smelly bottles?

That was the question that prompted the start of this project. At TK, we enjoy cycling a lot. Some of the staffers are serious roadies, while others prefer tackling the trails. Everyone seem to accept the norm when it comes to those ubiquitous cycling bottles.

We thought to ourselves, why don’t we incorporate the technology we already have experience with, crafting our TK Camper line of bottles, and build ourselves a cycling bottle that actually works well?

We learned a couple of things while studying the dimensions of all the cycling water bottles and bike cages on the market:

The diameter of all cycling bottles are pretty much uniform.
The indentation of cycling cages and bottles are not uniform, but they all fall within a defined range.
With these parameters in mind, we set out to build the TK cycling bottle. The gradual ridge near the top of the bottle fits all standard bike cages snugly.

Our bottle is made of 18/8 stainless steel and incorporates vacuum insulation technology. This prevents heat transfers and condensation from building on the outside of the bottle (sweating). Vacuum insulation keeps cold beverages cold for 48 hours, while hot drinks stay hot for over a full day.

We will be launching this bottle with 2 finishes: Version 1 with a brushed stainless finish and version 2 with a powder coated black finish.

The goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to pay for the molding cost and 1st production run of the TK cycling bottles. We hope with the success of this Kickstarter campaign, we can quickly bring the TK cycling bottle onto Amazon and other retail spaces for more cyclists and bikers to enjoy!
