The Wisconsin river runs through the whole state of Wisconsin, it’s 430 miles long, and it’s a tributary of the Mississippi river. Meskousing is the river’s first and original name, which was used by the American Indian tribes and it means obscure. You can rent a canoe and go for a paddling weekend where you can see the numerous herons, cranes, and even catch a glimpse of the bald eagles trying to catch their prey on their river. There are many sandbars where you can tie up the canoe and set up a camp.

The state of Wisconsin is probably the best place you can visit in fall. Choose a favorite spot and try to be there by the end of this season. Have fun and good luck!
