In this article, I will show you how to make a fishing lure out of paracord. When in a survival situation knowing how to take apart your paracord gear and use it for survival is important. After all, why else would you wear paracord gear if you don’t know how to use it in a survival situation!
The numbers below correspond with the numbers in the diagram.
Now pull the guts of the paracord out from the bottom about an 1/8-1/4 of an inch.
Slip the hook through the sheath of the paracord like shown in the diagram.
Melt the end of your paracord AND inner strands (guts).
I like to melt the sheath first, to close in the guts, then melt the guts.
Make sure the eye hook at the end of the hook is exposed. Don’t melt the paracord over it.
Remember, the guts must be melted to the sheath so they don’t get ripped out. There is nothing else holding them in.
Now just frill the end of the sheath, and the guts so they look like they do in the diagram and you’re done!
