Power source adapters on a budget

Keeping all your devices charged up all day is important any day of the week, but when you are out of town or on the road, it is even more so. Different countries have different power outlet sockets and voltages. Fortunately, a solution is at hand, and it’s not too expensive. Compatible with most devices, these gadgets cost under $40.00, allowing you to charge most things most of the time.

Amazon Basics Portable power bank 16,100 mAh

Power banks

While sitting in transit, away from electric power outlets and using your gadgets, you will probably drain all the power from the devices you have come to rely on. Better than have to look for power outlets in unfamiliar places, a relatively inexpensive portable battery will keep everything charged up for a reasonable length of time. This item costs $30.00 from Amazon

The Skross world adapter MUV USB

Many countries in the world have different power sockets than those used in the United States, which is why the MUV USB is super useful. There are hundreds of choices, but this one really is a top quality item. Skross has few of the issues that plague other models and as such is a very good choice. It is solid, well made and reliable. It fits firmly into many different wall sockets. It has two USB sockets and has an output of 2.1 amps. You can easily charge a tablet or two phones simultaneously while there are other things plugged in it. The only thing that would improve it is if it also had some three-pin sockets. Nevertheless, this is probably the best device on the market.

Monster OTG400 Power Strip

Nowadays most devices can be charged via USB, but you may still find yourself with more devices than available sockets. Carrying dozens of adapters is just impractical. The Monster OTG 400 Power strip has solved the problem for a long time now. It is a 6.25-inch power strip with four sockets. It can plug into the adapter without any problems. Please check the voltage however before plugging anything in.

 SANSYS 4-Port USB Wall Charger

For other gadgets with which you can power up to four devices without needing a separate travel adapter, there are several available, but the SANSYS four port puts out 4.8 amps of juice. This is equivalent to a couple of computers, four phones or any combination of devices. Ahead of its competitors, the SANSYS wall charger has a couple of clip-on plug adapters for the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. If you will be needing mobile electronic goods while you are traveling, this may be all you need. It is available for under $20.00.

RAV Power wireless charging pad

This is a wonderful device and way more than a bunch of cables and wires. For ultimate wireless convenience, just place your device onto the charging pad and leave. This is a small travel bag charge pad which will fit into your pocket.

It ships with a USB wall charger and is able to power anything that is compatible with Qi wireless standard. This is, however, a bit slower than the connected method of charging devices, so it is not for use when you are in a hurry.

Although it is small, it aligns with phones or standard tablets. A loud beep lets you know that charging has begun.

Qi is being installed in several Android devices from Samsung, LG, HTC and can be added to other phones too, including iPhones, via a separate power coil or case.
