Travel the world with one backpack

One of the biggest issues every traveler has is an overpacking and lack of organization skills. Before going on a trip, we try to fit the whole closet in one backpack. Then additional bags start to show up and complicate everything.

It’s very hard to make a rational choice of what you really need on your trip and what is unnecessary. Don’t take way too many things because they will slow you down and prevent you from really enjoying the places you want to visit.

Thinking about traveling around the world with one backpack sounds crazy, but with smart packing, you will have all you need, as well as a place in your backpack for souvenirs and gifts.

Backpack

When buying a backpack, choose something light and very comfortable. You need a backpack with lots of compartments where you can keep your things. Try on more than one to see if it fits your back well.

Clothes

Pack only wrinkle-free clothes in neutral colors that you can combine for any occasion. Think about layers, but still, don’t take too much. As for shoes, pack the most comfortable pair you have. You don’t want your feet to be tired and full of blisters after a long walk. Also, shoes are great packing space. You can fill them with socks or small items.

Hygiene

You may find yourself in a place where they don’t provide towels, so always pack yourself a quick-dry towel. It takes up less space than a regular one and you can wash it easily. For smaller items use a storage bag to keep it all organized. Make sure that the bag itself is not too heavy.

Water

Walking around with a bottle hanging of your backpack is not the most comfortable thing. Make a smart choice and have a collapsible one that you can resize when you don’t need it.

Technology

Unless you are a professional photographer, you don’t need an expensive camera on your trip. A smartphone will do the job, especially with the help of a clip-on lens.

Instead of taking your laptop, get a thin tablet that you can pack between your clothes and you won’t be so worried if it gets damaged.

Ultimate space savers

Your best friends for saving space will be a compression bag. When all your clothes are packed in the bag, squeeze the air out and then zip it or turn over the top. This way you’ll save lots of space. Also, when packing clothes, roll them up to save even more space.

Now you know how to pack wisely for your next trip. No matter if you go on a Euro-trip, a hike across the country or a trip around the world, these packing tips will save you time and energy. When on the road, you need to move freely, you really do not want to be carrying a bunch of bags that you won’t really need.

Safe travels!
