A beach vacation is an absolute win for the entire family. There is nothing more satisfying than a family holiday in a place without crowds, million of umbrellas, and noisy bars.
A beach vacation where each family member can enjoy being in some hidden and quiet piece of paradise. Sharing beach time with the people you love is not only good for your mental health, but it’s also good for the family spirit.
Choosing a place that may not be trendy and full of people is maybe the best decision to make this season. A laid back vacation is what we all deserve after hard working months spent in the office.
Here are some suggestions for the best lesser known beaches in the country.
Wingaersheek Beach is a 0,6 mile long beach located on Annisquam River in West Gloucester, Massachusetts. It’s perfect for families because the sea here is like a giant calm, warm, swimming pool, so perfect swimming conditions for small kids.
Ipswitch Peninsula protects the beach from winds and cold water intrusions. Another interesting thing about this beach is that you can see, up-close, snails, hermit crabs, and star fish. A perfect place for a relaxed family vacation.
Bean Hollow State Beach, located in San Mateo County, near Pescadero, offers privacy, as well as natural nooks and crannies, perfect for family gatherings.
Playing a Frisbee, reading a book or explore the tide pools full of crabs and anemones are some of the activities you and your family can do here.
In spring you can see gray whales passing which will make your holiday spectacular.
Kure Beach is a seaside town in New Hanover County, North Carolina. This tiny beach remains relatively empty during the summer, unlike other northern beaches that front the Atlantic. A must see here is the North Carolina Underwater Archaeology Center and the breathtaking beaches. The whole family will enjoy in a vacation time spent in Kure Beach.
This rural historical district is located on Whidbey Island near Coupeville, Washington. The saltwater lagoons are a very attractive place for kids and those that like bird watching. Ebey’s Landing is a National Reserve with 400 historical structures and two state parks, but what’s fascinating here is the beach. On a clear day, you can see the Olympic Mountains.
There is nothing better than a quiet beach holiday with the family. This year try out some of the new unexplored beaches we have around us rather than well-known packed places.
There are fantastic virgin beaches that no one knows about and we’ve not covered here, it’s worth exploring to see what’s close to you so you can take the family on a special beach vacation.
