Moving to an island is easy if you know where to go and what to expect. There are several interesting places in and out of the country where you can find a new life without too much difficulty. Some of them are cheaper than others, but they all offer a quality of life that is often better than living in the city. It depends on what you’re looking for, of course, but there are so many islands in the world that you can move to, that you will find your favorite one for sure.

Here’s a list of some of the best islands to move to.

If you want to stay in US territory, but move somewhere tropical, then stop searching. Hawaii is what everybody needs when a big city crisis strikes. Hawaii is a melting pot of different cultures that will welcome you with open arms. There are various small communities that offer living options on this warm Pacific island. Active volcanoes and tropical forests are two more reasons to move here if you enjoy being close to nature. If you get tired of it, you can always go back to the mainland. What can be easier than living on a tropical island, but still living in the US?

This island is easy-to-move-to because you and your family won’t suffer a big shock, there are good schools, and there are plenty of outdoor opportunities. Bainbridge is a wooded island that lies close to the majestic Olympic peninsula.  Fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, or cycling will never be a problem. A lot of people say that Cozumel is the best island for starting all over and recovering your health. Cozumel is located in the Caribbean Sea, only 50 miles from Cancun. If you don’t like heights don’t worry, Cozumel’s highest point is only 49 ft. above sea level. Eating fresh seafood every day is affordable for US citizens who decide to move here. If you want to be healthier, leaner, live cheaply, and learn Spanish in the fastest way, then start thinking about visiting your southern neighbor, and maybe move to Cozumel. Scuba diving, snorkeling, Maya ruins are just a few more things that can help you decide.

Sicily, for example, is a great option for those who enjoy good food, stunning architecture, and a great climate. People here are warm, welcoming, and if you make local friends, you’ll get to try the best traditional meals and sweets. Ancient theaters, cathedrals, plazas, restaurants, wineries, and picturesque landscapes hard to resist should be enough to make you think about moving to the iconic Italian island of Sicily. Not to mention that the cost of living is lower than in all the previous islands on this list. Buying a property and renting an apartment is also cheaper.
