Low-cost summer vacations for families in the US

Depending on what is the preference of your family for this summer there are plenty of economic possibilities to spend a nice vacation with your closest ones. Family Camp

Medomak Camp, Rockland, Maine

The rates vary depending on the month, but during the summer, for a four-member family, you’ll pay about $3500 a week. Which although it seems a lot the price includes all meals and activities for the whole family. There are morning activities for the kids including outdoor arts and crafts and archery while the adults can practice yoga with excellent instructors.

 

The afternoons at Medomak Camp are very special. Everybody goes to the lake to do some kayaking, swimming or sailing. This as an unforgettable, refreshing experience that your family will love. During the evenings you can play softball, frisbee or play your favorite musical instrument around a campfire. A real camping experience to create amazing family memories.

Beach Vacation

Sea Mist Oceanfront Resort, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is a perfect place for a good value vacation in local budget friendly hotels. The costs include free access to the resort’s waterpark and also to the Water Park that’s few blocks away.

There are ten swimming pools on the property and six of them are for kids. A large playground, mini golf, and a free movie theater are just some of the features included.

One more thing, pets are allowed with prior notice. The beach itself is sandy, large and offers lots of fun outdoor activities.

Family Adventure

Ace Adventure Center, Oak Hill, West Virginia

The East Coast’s Grand Canyon, New River Gorge offers lots of fun for all the active family members. Children starting at age six can join parents on a whole-day white water adventure. These tours include classes with top-class rafters that will make sure everything is under control. If you are not in white water rafting that much, try zip lining, horseback riding, kayaking or mountain climbing for an extra fee. Whatever your preference, you’ll find it here.

Maho Bay Camps, St John, US Virgin Islands

From May to December the prices in the Maho Bay Camp goes down, as well as air fares. If your kids are under 16, you won’t have to pay anything for them at the camp. This modern eco-lodge camp offers platform tents connected with each other by wooden walkways. The beaches on St John are stunning, making you feel like a part of a documentary about the world’s best beach destinations. The crystal clear water is perfect for snorkeling, swimming or sailing.
