The valley in Yosemite is a mile wide and 7-miles long, attracting millions of visitors a year. The Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado has a whopping 150 lakes and 450 miles of streams. Don’t forget about its lush ecosystems, including forests and alpine tundra. There is also a Trail Ridge Road which has more than 12,000 feet in overlooks, giving you the feeling you’re actually standing on top of the world.
What list would be complete without Yellowstone? Yellowstone National Park is the best-known park in the whole system, spanning 2.2 million acres across Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. The wildlife has been one big draw, but don’t miss out on the unforgettable geysers and natural beauty.
Kings Canyon National Park really takes in the best pieces of Nevada and California. The park was created to protect the giant sequoia trees and has since remained a haven for the amazing trees and the surrounding terrain.
In the Guadalupe Mountains in New Mexico, the Carlsbad Caverns National Park has an amazing show cave, the Carlsbad Cavern. The cavern is well-known for its chamber which is made up almost entirely of limestone. The chamber is 4,000 feet long, 255 feet high, and 625 feet across.
